Mrs. Rebecca Dennis
I hold both Bachelors (2005) and Masters (2010) degrees in the field of Music Education from the University of Louisville. I also have Level III Certification in Orff Schulwerk, a method of teaching music developed by German composer, Carl Orff. I am also a National Board Certified Teacher with a focus in Elementary/Middle Music, awarded in 2014. My primary instrument is the trumpet, although the ukulele is getting most of my focus these days.
I am certified to teach music to all grades (K-12), but my passion is for elementary! I began my first year teaching here at Cedar Grove in 2005. Starting in 2010, I was asked to teach visual art in addition to music. I try to include all four art forms (music, art, dance, and drama) in my curriculum.
My husband and I have been married since 2004 and have three children--Leah, Landon, and Luke. Last year, we bought a house and planted roots here in Cedar Grove. In my spare time, I enjoy playing music and improving my skills on ukulele and guitar. I also have a creative side and enjoy cake decorating and various arts and crafts. During the summer, my family enjoys swimming and gardening.
