Last week, I created a Donors Choose project requesting new mallets. It was funded in less than 24 hours! You guys are simply amazing. I am overwhelmed with gratitude.
A few parents contacted me after it was funded saying they missed the opportunity to help. So I created another Donors Choose project requesting funds for a Contrabass bar. More details about the project can be found at the link. All About the Bass Your support would mean so much to the students. In return, you'll get awesome photos and videos of your gift in action and our heartfelt thanks. Thank you so much, Mrs. Dennis P.S. If you know anyone who may want to help my students, please pass this along!

5th grade is doing very well on ukuleles. We have learned 3 chords-C, F, and A minor. Here is Mrs. Wicker’s class performing “Just the Way You Are” by Bruno Mars. My current student teacher, Mr. Atwell, is featured on the drum set.
Mrs. Hodges’s 5th grade class is practicing rhythms with sixteenth notes. Today, they performed Peanut Butter Pie on hand drums.
Mrs. Fightmaster’s 1st grade class is learning to read music! Today, we performed Frosty Weather on Boomwhackers.
Mrs. Trent’s 3rd grade class is performing a song called Snowflakes on xylophones. The middle section features some improvised melodies by each instrument section.
Mrs. Alison’s 3rd and 4th grade class enjoyed playing Hot Cross Buns on recorder and learning a clapping game to accompany the song.
Students of all grade levels enjoyed exploring drama and pantomime. They worked in small groups to act out a scene from a well-known fairy tale, nursery rhyme, or children’s book without talking. These are a few clips of our favorite moments. See if you can guess their stories. The answers are at the end of the video.
