Tonight, the elementary Choir and Orff Ensemble performed at the 50th Annual Central Area Music Festival at Bullitt Central High School. The groups featured students from Cedar Grove, Roby, and Shepherdsville Elementary.

5th Grade Lion Sleeps Tonight
Mrs. Hodges’s class focused on dynamics (volume). Listen to how we change dynamic levels in The Lion Sleeps Tonight.
1st Grade-Paw Paw Patch
Mrs. Fightmaster’s class enjoyed dancing to a Kentucky folk song-Paw Paw Patch. The paw paw is a native fruit to Kentucky. You can’t find them in the grocery store because the don’t have a long shelf life. Does anyone have access to a paw paw tree?
2nd grade-Bounce High, Bounce Low
Mrs. Forgey’s class is playing the singing game Bounce High, Bounce Low. They are accompanying with the C chord on ukulele.
2nd Grade Color Wheel Umbrellas
We reviewed the order of the color wheel and practiced drawing a straight line with a ruler. We used oil pastel and tempera cake paint to create our art.
3rd grade Stained Glass Windows
We examined the symmetry in Medieval Rose Windows. We created our own stained glass windows with tissue paper sun-catchers.
4th grade Vanishing Point.
We learned how to create depth in our art with a vanishing point. This makes the art appear 3-dimensional.
1st grade Hot Air Balloons.
We reviewed the art elements line, color, and texture. We used oil pastel and tempera paint to create these collages.
5th grade studied the color wheel and learned how to blend colors. Check out their color wheel eyes!
