Yesterday, we said goodbye to Mr. Moberly. After 9 years and 12 days being the principal of Cedar Grove, he is moving on to a new opportunity to work at a school closer to home where his children attend. We couldn't let him go without some surprises.
The PTO purchased a canvas and placed vinyl lettering and a Viking head in the center. During special area time, we were sneaky and got every student to place thumbprints on the canvas. The art was gifted to him at Friday's Viking Voyage. Best wishes, Mr. Moberly, on your new adventure!

Our interactive bulletin board is finally finished! The students have had lots of fun taking turns coloring. I also had individual coloring sheets posted for students to take. If your child did not get one, have them see me.
I created an interactive bulletin board outside the art room to begin the school year. I have placed a box of markers beside the board and am encouraging both students and adults to assist in adding color to our board. Please remember to save space for others and don't get too carried away! For those of you who need more color therapy, I also have some single page color sheets hanging beside the markers. I can't wait to see the finished art!!!
Mr. Kristian Kemker is a music education student at UofL. He is placed at Cedar Grove to complete a portion of his student teaching requirement. Mr. Kemker will be assisting with classes until mid-October when he will move on to another school placement. Mr. Kemker's primary iinstrument is trumpet. He also has a strong background in ukulele, which will be very helpful as I am still developing the ukulele curriculum.
I'm excited to begin a new school year. I would like to welcome all the new families to our school. I met severa of you at back-to-school night and look forward to teaching your children. I have a monthly newsletter callled "Notes" which will communicate what we are learning in the classroom. The first newsletter includes a wish list for art supplies. If you are able to donate some items, please send them to the art room. Thank you so much! If you have any questions, please let me know.
