http://cedargrovemusic.weebly.com/newsletters.html I didn't update much in the music room. But, many students have been pleased to see this new mural on the ukulele cabinet. I stared at this circular handle last year and imagined a sound hole. There is never enough time in the school year for projects like this, so I took time this summer to make my vision a reality.
I have worked very hard in the art room this year to make things more organized and aesthetically pleasing. I haven't finished all my plans, but decided it was time to share pictures with you. There is a pic gallery below. You can view pics of both the music and art room at this link.
http://cedargrovemusic.weebly.com/tour-the-classrooms.html Welcome back! I have now seen each class at least once and it has been a great start to the year. I have lots of new and exciting things planned for music and art. To help make some of these plans a reality, I have currently created 2 projects on DonorsChoose.org. These projects are requesting items to enhance opportunities in the music and art rooms. Donors Choose has also partnered with some corporate donors with an opportunity which will multiple your donations.
The art project is titled "Let's Explore Art Hands-On" and is requesting items for an Art Exploration Center. This center will be used as a free-choice center when students have completed their art assignment and clean up jobs. All donations to this project are currently being doubled by the Clorox Foundation. A $10 donation would turn in to a $20 donation. This matching offer is available until all funds have been allocated. You may click here to donate to the Art project. The music project is titled "Mic Drop! Sing Like a Rock Star" and is requesting microphones, mic stands, and an amplifier to be used in my classroom and in performances in the gym. On Tuesday, August 13th, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will be boosting donations by 50%. So, a $10 donation would turn into a $15 donation. This matching offer is only available for one day! You may click here to donate to the Music project. VERIZON Customers! You've got FREE MONEY to use on Donors Choose! If you are currently a Verizon customer, Verizon is gifting their customers $10 to use on a Donors Choose project. Open your Verizon app, go to Verizon Up, scroll down to get a code. If you use the code on one of these projects during a matching offer, that $10 can become $15 or $20!!! This is at NO COST TO YOU! Don't forget to share these links with family members! With donations from you and these generous corporate donors, we can improve the opportunities available for our students. Thank you for supporting the arts at our school! |
