I hope everyone is staying warm. I had a request from a student and I have fallen in love with the song. Maybe this can bring you so warmth on this cold day. This is “Ukulele In a Snowstorm” by the Okee Dokee Bros. If you have a request, add it below and I’ll try my best to make a video for you.

4th graders created winter landscapes featuring our state bird—the cardinal. The medium is oil pastels.
3rd Graders created a still life collage. We practiced cutting folded paper to make symmetry in our hearts and vases. These will be on display a short while because I promised the students they would have them back in time to give them to a special someone on Valentine’s Day.
Mrs. Newberry’s 1st graders enjoyed performing a dance to Frosty Weather. After dancing, we looked at the notation of the song and learned how melodies can go up, down, or stay the same.
Orff Ensemble started back today. We started learning “Mister Frog” and explored some improvisation. They stayed together very well. We will be adding more parts soon to create more texture and harmony. If you have a 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade student who would like to join Orff, I’ll be opening sign-ups again. Have your child see me for a letter before Friday. Choir Rehearsals are Wednesday and Friday mornings from 8:40-9:05.
Choir rehearsals started back today. We were missing several kids who may need an extra reminder about rehearsal days. But that didn’t stop us! We started learning the traditional round “Make New Friends”. I was impressed their independence and part singing. They stayed together very well to create some wonderful three-part harmony. If you have a 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade student who would like to join choir, I’ll be opening sign-ups again. Have your child see me for a letter before Friday. Choir Rehearsals are Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:40-9:05.
